Bathtub Lifts

The drain plug does not rotate and remains open, continues to fall. Any ideas on how to solve this problem? Is rollerblading?

The only one of these I ever saw was on the front end of a plumbing clawfoot tub antique I installed for a client, 15 years ago. It was all brass and the drain which had torn a glass ball white button on top that moves you and lifted, twisted it and bring it back down and the small pins that were inserted into the sides sat in a small "V", one on each side of the tube, hold it in place and allow drainage. Down, of course, was in a position of the stop.
