Colectomy Complications

Colectomy ComplicationsComplications due to a partial colectomy?

My husband had a partial colectomy is nearly 4 weeks, but it was swollen (like an egg comes out), where the incision on his stomach and he is very tender and hurts. He also started having a slight fever this evening and feels like it is again his pain diverticulitis. His surgeon says he will take a month or two to get better but it does not feel better. when should we go to the emergency and what could be the cause of all these complications? any answer would help. Thank you.

I am an RN who underwent colectomy a year ago. If the pain increases, go to the ER. Fever ... go to the ER. Your husband knows his body better, trust him, and if he does not improve, it is not, despite the surgeon's expertise. Many surgeons to treat the disease, not the whole person, and fail to see or admit the complications that may arise. It is a very painful procedure with a long recovery, but less than 4 weeks, it should be improved.

My incision does not swell, but it started to flow, a lot. My surgeon has tried to convince me I was getting better, and a week later I was back in the room of sepsis. I put my trust in my judgments surgeons tried to be difficult, and now, lucky to be alive, but some type of pain and fatigue. Trust yourself and your husband.

Ask the Doc what is the cause of the swelling. I hope this is not an abscess or hernia. Request a response.

Go to the emergency ...... get a 2nd opinion. I wish you a speedy recovery!
