Colon Liver Cleanse

I think to do a colon cleanse, cleanse the liver and then, but I am taking oral contraceptives and need to know if one of two things will make the pill ineffective yet. I do not want to get pregnant!

I think a colon cleanse could affect the pill. They say that if you have diarrhea for a prolonged period of time to use a backup method of birth control. And a colon cleaning may damage your electrolytes and puffs of your system, such as diarrhea would be. I do not know what the liver is clean, I can not answer that question for you. But a quick word of advice: you do not need to do all those "clean" things if you eat well and exercise. Your body is very good at getting rid of "toxins" by itself, and some of these cleaning procedures can really mess up your electrolytes. Just be careful.

Anything that causes your body to flush your orders more quickly than usual will affect the absorption of drugs, vitamins and nutrients. I would use another method while the cleanup.
