Female Human Body

Female Human BodyFord Making human body model available to a consortium Automotive

Road safety is a major concern of automakers. This is why a group of car manufacturers have been trained to continually develop safety devices for their vehicles. One of the newcomers in the group Ford Motor Company.

The Dearborn-based company recently announced that they will share their expertise to the group effort. The Global Human Body Models Consortium LLC, the group is named, was formed in April of last year. The group's objective is to develop models of human body which will enable them to develop a life-saving devices better.

Ford has joined other automakers in the group. DaimlerChrysler AG., General Motors Corp., Honda Motor Co., Hyundai Motor Co., Nissan Motor Corp., PSA Peugeot-Citroen, Renault sas, Takata Corp., Toyota Motor Corp. and TRW Inc. are the other consortium members.

Ford has announced that they would make their model of the human body available to the group. For 14 years now the company has developed models of human body computer they used to develop restraint systems for vehicles to complement Ford bumpers that are designed to absorb most of the energy occurred during a frontal collision. The company has developed the most advanced computer model of the human body showing the bodies of human beings in microscopic detail.

Said model allows researchers to study how some car accidents affect a person. The complete model of the human body is the most advanced model ever developed by an automobile manufacturer. features the most advanced model is the detailed representation of the human brain and internal organs.

In 1993, the company introduced gradually the model. Over the years, the company has created computer models of various body parts. The head, neck, chest, abdomen, thoracic and lumbar spine, internal organs of the chest and abdomen, pelvis and upper and lower extremities were made from 1993 to 2004.

In 2004, the various parties were united to form a detailed and comprehensive model of the human body. When constructing the model, the Ford researchers collected data from MRI and human anatomy texts. After building the model, researchers Ford is validated by testing body. Volunteer human testing was also done to ensure that the model is indeed a human body in a very detailed.

"The human body model will reduce physical testing on components and large scale levels during vehicle development," said Dr. Saeed Barbat, director of research of passive safety and advanced engineering for Ford Motor Company. "It will also be used to develop more sophisticated tools that could lead to more crash dummies human-like", added further Barbat. The most notable feature of the human body model is the model of the spine very detail. The company has managed to create a template with the spine of all segments of vertebrae and cartilage present. Otherwise, the detailed model of the human brain also enable researchers to study how a person's head can be damaged by some accident, and thus enabling them to create a device or a safety device to prevent serious brain damage caused by car accidents.

The consortium will be able to use the technology developed by Ford to create better restraint systems protect more motorists. The group has already asked for proposals for research and academic groups worldwide e. From these proposals, the group plans to select five who will study the reaction.
