Make Chapstick

Make ChapstickHow do you make lip balm and lip balm?

I have plenty chapstick and lip balms and glosses, but I thought it would be fun to try to make mine. I want to make a mint lip balm by melting a sugar cane and the use of petroleum jelly. I have an empty chapstick container that is washed. Im not sure how to do a good lip balm to lip balm in a container is easy but I want to make a lip balm. Thank you!

Hello. Do not use oil jelly.Petroleum jelly is a petrochemical, is very bad for your skin. Make your own frozen UN-oil. Use 2 ounces of beeswax (or other natural wax) and 1 cup of olive oil, castor oil or almond oil. Melt the wax with the oil in a Pyrex cup low temperature microwave 15 seconds until the wax is melted. Cool slightly, then add the peppermint oil (very little), then pour into tubes or pots. Try adding other oils that you used to make lip balms. All ingredients can be purchased in a grocery store or health store. Good luck!

Basic recipe for lip balm:

- 2 1 / 2 c. tsp oil / butter

-1 / 2 teaspoon beeswax

-1 / 2 teaspoon flavoring (optional)

- 1 / 2 teaspoon extra moisturizers (optional)

- 1 / 8 c. Tea conservation

- 1 / 4 c. Tea color (optional)

With any recipe, begin by melting your oils, butters and beeswax in a heatproof container. Pyrex measuring cups work particularly well for this because they can be put in the microwave and pour spouts to prevent overflowing. Alternatively, you can use a small pot to heat the ingredients. Once melted, allow three to five minutes to cool the mixture. The goal is to preserve the ingredients later, which can be damaged by high temperatures. Use the cooling off period to clean and sterilize your containers for lip balm. Stir in flavorings, colorings and other optional ingredients. If the mixture is still liquid, pour it into your prepared containers. You can buy these products in the cosmetics department of your store or reuse old lip gloss pots. Once the lip balm has cooled and solidified, it is ready. Remember to keep the finished product in a cool place or it will melt.
