The advantages of using soap in hand are numerous: simple ingredients, fewer chemicals, vegetable oils instead of animal fats. All these things are important to many people today. The reasons to use a more natural, handmade products are not always obvious, however. Read on to learn more.

Many of those are there to make life easier. However, when it comes to skin care and ingredients you put on your skin, the technology is probably not what you had in mind!

Why natural soap hand so special?


Natural soaps are made so secular. This is a very simple chemical reaction between the oils (or fats) and lye (sodium hydroxide for bars). All soap is made with lye, but there is no lye in the finished product. The chemical reaction transforms the lye / fat mixture with glycerin. Glycerin is a natural by-product and, as such, the relationship between the molecule of glycerin soap and means that you have a cleanser with rich, luxurious lather that cleans like nothing else. As a bonus, it does not remove the skin of its natural protective oils.


Commercially made soap usually contains detergents, fillers, chemicals, petroleum, content rich in animal fats (read: Tallowate sodium) and irritants like SLS or SLES (read our other articles on sulfate!). Commercially made soap tends to be less environmentally friendly way. While commercially manufactured soap usually costs less, the impact on your skin and the environment is shocking.

Natural handmade soaps are made with natural oils have a high content of glycerin, is better for the environment without detergents, phosphates or sulfates, and are never tested on animals.

What is natural soap?


In Nee Nee's Soap Shop, we use all natural vegetable oils in our soaps. Each oil is carefully chosen for its cleansing properties of soap. soybean oil and coconut oil are that we use. Our soybean oil is partially hydrogenated, vegan and natural as we could find for cosmetic purposes. Shea butter adds moisturizing properties essential to know that we do, help keep your skin soft and supple. Goat Milk (read our articles about it here, too!) Is also a natural moisturizer, skin environment that helps your skin maintain its pH balance, making your skin healthier and better protected . Essential and fragrance oils contribute unique flavor of each soap, natural spices / herbs, oatmeal, and / or flower buds and leaves of plants contribute texture. We do not use dyes or natural dyes in our soaps. What you see is what you get!

Why is Glycerin Important?

Glycerin is a humectant. It attracts moisture and gives your skin. In the manufacture of handmade soap and natural process, a molecule of glycerin is created for every three molecules of soap. Commercial soap manufacturers often remove the glycerin from their soap and then sell them to pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries. With our natural soaps, though, all the natural glycerin remains intact with all its advantages of skin-nourishing.


When and how to start making soap?

Until a century ago, all the soap was made from animal fats, and much has been made at home. Families would save the bacon of butchering animals for making soap. Lye was made from the ashes.
