Walk into any toy store and you'll be bombarded with walls and toys that are just LOUD. These all toys need batteries, most blinding, pulsating lights, some with familiar characters molded or stamped on them, and they all seem to assault the senses and turn our children into mindless zombies.

So what happens to those of us that want raise their children with imagination and curiosity? We make a choice. We fill our houses with some good old fashioned toys to counteract all the technology our children are facing every day. Let's start with the basics.

Play Kitchen - If you look around your kitchen right now, you'll probably quite rare plastic utensils that could be quite fun in the tub. Or, you can walk into a thrift shop and make an offer plastic bowls, cups, utensils and a reasonable price. Fill a bowl with water, add some plastic containers, and your child will play "cook" until they get pruny. Add bubbles, and they can not imagine that they beat the batter for a cake. Yummy!

Legos and building blocks - Children of all ages are fascinated with Legos and blocks. When your child sits amid a pile of blocks, the imagination can run wild. You may notice that some of the most unusual bridges, towers, cities, and even monsters begin to appear. For very young children, the simple construction of a tower block, he fell, and building it again, can keep them busy for hours, crying and laughing all the time. Just cut off the fingers of the glove and decorate to look like people, aliens, monsters, or animals. your child's imagination will run wild if you come out the box of equipment. Then it's time for you to sit and enjoy the show!

Tables Felt Story - Telling stories is another way for children to use their imagination and creativity. A storyboard is easy to configure and use, even for the youngest teller. You start by making or buying a board of directors. To create your own you'll need a large piece of felt attached to a solid surface, like a painter of easel or even a wall. You will also find the feel of a trade or fabric stores. A very young child will surprise you with their ability to create objects with just a few basic shapes. Musical Instruments - Whether your musical instruments are homemade, with a comb and waxed paper or store bought, making music is a wonderful way to spend the day together. Teach your child that music can be made of anything from an old container oat scratchin.
