Spa Equipment For Sale

Having recently graduated from the School of Esthetics (spa, facials, etc..) I bought spa facilities at a company called AC ree've lab when they were in the beauty / aesthetics conference at the Javits Center in New York earlier this year. At the beauty show you get a lot of deals, and so as a business investment, I bought $ 1,100 for the entire equipment for a room full service spa. Hardly the numbers work for this company, and now when I finally find some work and get someone on the phone is actually the owner, stating his name, but not its position as owner (he has acted as a sidekick and as he had to go through the various departments to make my equipment, but in reality, and after researching, I discovered there are only four employees and He is the owner). I HATE talking to him. It is wicked, deceitful, and I took him in so many lies. Me want to take legal action, even if I do not have money for a lawyer. If I'm in New York and the company was in Ca, what can I do? I know I must file a report any crime, but I do not know where to start. I spent over a thousand dollars in total (I did not really even have the money, it was more of me purchasing the equipment as an investment firm, I used my savings that as a student took me a while to download). I have a receipt and everything that I need to prove that I bought them. I have already contacted the administrators of aesthetics and cosmetology conference in New York to tell the story of. If I google his name there are millions of complaints. I do not know how he keeps away with it. I guess it's easy to prey on people at trade shows, because we automatically think it's safe to buy from a company in one of these events, but it is not and I do want that kind of stress that goes for others! This is a civil matter, not a criminal matter. You must file a type of Small Claims Action in your state if you want to use less. I do not know if NY has a status of small claims so that you may need to be there for the municipal court. I recommend you do this case "in pro per" meaning that you represent, rather than spend money on a lawyer because these people can not ever leave NY to defend himself on such a small matter and you can win by default if you do this correctly.
