Can anyone tell me what kind of gecko do we? He came from Baton Rouge, LA.? It suckers (?) On his feet. It's like a light brown with dark spots and small brown bumps. He / She is very shy. We have it down to VA Beach, VA by accident, through West VA., Is where we actually got. It was last winter. After going home I went online and got some info, went to the store for pet supplies (they did not know what kind it is). He / she is doing well, loves crickets the best, but occasionally eat small brownish, but hate the whites. Not touch. Once obtained a fly in his tank and me too. Something I do not understand why he has not grown much at all, I accidentally broke his tail when he started to take care of him and has since pushed back, but I can not tell the whole length of everything. Thank you in advance.
Do you have pictures?
If it was wild and you get home, my bet would be a Mediterranean Gecko. It is an introduced species that has done very well in some parts of the United States. We get our house in the suburbs of Dallas quite often.

The most common geckos on the market are Mediterranean geckos, look it up online and compare it to the image. They come in many Hughes, some are almost completely translucent and some are more of a brown color, all have bumps and weaving a strange noise on their backs, they are about 4 inches long. You should try to find a pet store where you can order some, they really love the company of their own species. They also do very well with anoles. Do not forget to mist with a bottle of water.
Somewhere, someone can.
