Is there an advantage to the grape seed oil and valerian root to help ADHD? One of my friends told me to give him the grape seed oil and son valerian root to help with ADHD Does anyone have and personal experience with this
Valerian root is useful for insomnia and anxiety that may contribute indirectly ADHD. It is sometimes preferable to use a mixture of herbs.
Search for more food additives and dyes in food every day of your child. Things like monosodium glutamate (and all the hidden names such as autolyzed yeast extract and hydrolyzed vegetable protein) as well as 1,000 other examples can be effective even if they were to be approved individually in our food supply.
Do your best to rid the diet of refined sugars and refined carbohydrates, especially sugar juice (even 100% juice) and soft drinks.
Think of a gluten free diet. degradation products of gluten tract can pass the blood-brain barrier and act as false neurotransmitters in the brain, causing mental fog and potentially erratic behavior.
the grapeseed oil is a healthy oil to use, but I have not personally met research for its use with ADHD. I would look over the benefits of fish oil for ADHD. I like the grapeseed oil for cooking because it is thermally stable up to 475 degrees and is less expensive than some other warm oils as coconut oil.
The brain is composed primarily of fats (oils are fats), so I can not exclude a possible benefit of grapeseed oil, but I can not say it's based on what I read. Feel free to contact me by e-mail if you have other questions!
In reality, these 2 are generally used for other purposes such as insomnia and as an antioxidant. Grape seed may help because it is quite a powerful anti-oxidant and save brain cells from oxidative stress as you age.
The herbs which are especially recommended for ADHD are Ginkgo Biloba, laterifolia Scuttellaria (skullcap), Centella asiatica (Gotu Cola), Aspalathus linearis (Rooibos), and Passiflora incarnata (passion flower).
Ginkgo not only improves concentration and memory but also reduce mood swings and apathy. laterifolia Scuttellaria (cap) has been traditionally used as an effective tonic for nerves. It helps to support the natural equilibrium normally present in the mind and helps maintain a healthy attitude and even keel. Centella asiatica is recommended to support brain function such as mental clarity, memory health and maintain a balanced climate. This herb is highly respected in Ayurvedic medicine for its effects on the mind that it is even said to increase knowledge of Brahman - the supreme reality! Passion for the treatment of insomnia, anxiety, palpitations and nervous system origin. Rooibos to support natural systemic balance in the brain, promoting standard consistency and normal functioning of the nervous system.
